Where do I find my work for the day?

Teachers will upload Webex Address, Learning Goals/Success Criteria, and Learning Activities onto Compass each day – In the Lesson Plan section. Reminders, relevant handouts, or documentation can be attached for student access in the class feed.

Role of the Staff

  • Staff will be available initially on Webex and then on Compass or email or Google Classroom during normal lesson times (during timetabled classes in between 8.50am – 3.05 pm)

  • Staff will post work on Compass or Google Classroom

  • Staff will communicate with students via WebEx at the beginning of each lesson

  • Staff will respond to emails and provide feedback on work that is completed at home via the internet

  • Staff will assess submitted work on Compass via learning tasks and provide feedback

Role of the Student

  • Students will engage with their teachers via Webex at the beginning of each lesson

  • Students will study at home and complete work set on Compass by their teachers in each of their subject areas.

  • Students will complete and upload or email work to each of their teachers on Compass or Google Classroom for assessment.

Daily Routine

Students will follow their usual daily timetable and complete work that is set by their teacher on Compass or Google class for each lesson. Students should give themselves the usual breaks (recess and Lunchtime)

What will this look like?

8.50am – 10.50am (Period 1 & 2)

Students will access Webex and receive instructions by their teacher

Students will log onto Compass or Google classroom and work on set tasks for periods 1 and 2.

10.50am -11.15am

Students will have a break.

11.15am – 1.15pm (Period 3 & 4)

Students will access Webex and receive instructions by their teacher

Students will log onto Compass or Google classroom and work on set tasks for periods 3 and 4

1.15pm-2.00pm

Lunch Time

2.05pm – 3.05pm (Period 5)

Students will access Webex and receive instructions by their teacher

Students will log onto Compass or Google classroom and work on set tasks for period 5.

Student Wellbeing

Noble Park Secondary College recognises that students may be feeling unsure, isolated and overwhelmed by changes and may need wellbeing and learning support.

Year Level Coordinators will be in communication with their Year level groups least twice a week via Compass email. Students are encouraged to communicate with their YLC if they have any concerns, queries or just feel like talking to a staff member.

Our Wellbeing team, Lynda Chapman (Wellbeing Coordinator) and Theresa Sprekos (College Nurse) will be focused on providing pastoral care for all our students and be providing advice and mental health support links. Should you need to have contact with them please contact the office and we will arrange for them to contact you.

Our Integration staff will be in regular communication with our students involved in the Program for Students with Disabilities. In addition to their teachers, PSD students will be supported with the learning by an assigned Integration aide.

Our Multicultural Ethnic Aides will provide further support to International students, particularly to those who are in Homecare and have no family with them during this difficult time.

The college will maintain their communication avenues throughout our students’ time away from school.  We also encourage parents to make contact if they note their child struggling with set work or if their wellbeing is being compromised, so we can provide relevant support.
