In the coming weeks, all Year 10 students will be making some very important decisions regarding subjects as they proceed into their senior years in 2022. As a College, it is our responsibility to ensure we provide students and their families with the appropriate information so that educated decisions are made. It is also the responsibility of our students to actively engage with their learning and investigate possible pathway options. Therefore, as part of our Year 10 into 11 Course Counselling program, all Year 10 students will participate in four very important sessions facilitated by the College.

Verification Test – Math entry (Units 1 & 2)
Students who wish to undertake a VCE Maths Unit in Year 11 (General, Methods and/or Specialist Maths) will be required to take a Verification test. Results will be used as a means to determine placement in a Maths course.
Students who are absent for the test will be given an opportunity to take the test on the alternate date/time:
Wednesday, 18th August (3.30pm – 4.30pm).
Note: Students who do not take the Verification Test will not be considered for enrolment in a VCE Math Unit.

Aspirations Day
Students will participate In an all-day program held at the College.
Darren Pereira, CEO of Success Integrated will be running a seminar titled– Shape your Destiny where students will complete a personal profile highlighting personality traits, areas of strength and working style preferences which can be aligned to possible Career pathways for each individual student.

Online Senior Information Evening
Time: 6.30pm – 7.30pm
The Senior Information Evening is compulsory for ALL year 10 students and their parent/s or Guardian/s.
The evening will be an excellent opportunity to receive information about subjects and pathways for 2022 and beyond. Valuable Information will be presented by our senior team regarding VCE/VCAL and VET.
Interpreters will be available and students/parents are asked to log into their preferred language. See offered languages and Webex Addresses below.

Online Course Counselling Dates:

Times Available: 9.30am – 6.30pm
Wednesday, 25th August
Times Available: 9.30am – 4.30pm
Year 10 students are NOT required to attend normal school hours on these 2 days.
Parents are asked to book a 30-minute appointment via Compass with one of the available teachers.
Students must attend their Online Course Counselling appointment with their parent or guardian, be in FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM and have their Senior Handbook & Guides with them to use as a point of reference.
Note: Appointments are to be made online (Via Compass – click on Community Icon/Conferences) from Wednesday, 11th August to Wednesday, 19th August 2021. Please indicate if you require an Interpreter by selecting the preferred language.
