Arts Program Years 7 - 8
Students design, create, present and analyse artwork.
They develop skills in a range of media while producing responses that investigate the formal structures of art through self expression.
They look at links with artwork past and present.
The Year 7 program gives them a taste of future studies.
In two semester units, students explore the elements of visual arts and develop skills in the performing arts through music.
At Year 8 the curriculum of visual art expands to a whole year study of art and design.
They explore the principles of art through 2D and 3D artwork – including Ceramics and Visual Communication.
Arts Program Years 9 - 10
Art studies is a full year core subject for students in Years 9 and 10. The College offers a broad curriculum fostering all areas of learning for VCE studies.
Students design, create, present and analyse.
They develop increased knowledge and understanding of art media.
Through observation, research and gallery visits (state and regional) they produce reports based on artwork past and present.
They produce original drawings, paintings, photographs, ceramic pieces and visual communication.
Ideas are generated through observation, research and digital manipulation.
Through an elective system students can further specialise in arts.
Semester units of Photography and Drama are offered at both year levels.
