It is with great pleasure that I congratulate the students, staff and parents on the recent USA Music Tour, which was held at the end of Term 3 and during the school holidays.

Six students from NPSC plus Mr Caughey, Mr Redman and Faye and Peter Oram, jetted off to the USA for the 2009 USA Music Tour from September 16th until October 3rd .

The students: Stephen Bagley, Raven Oram, Matt Marra, Ashleigh Neville, Christine Reardon and Jamie Fox form the band “Dear Horizon” whose aim it was to do a two and a half week tour of Northern and Southern California. The trip took in San Francisco, Berkeley, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Burbank, Sun Valley and Santa Monica.

“Dear Horizon” played shows at venues such as: the legendary Gilman Street Project, Village Christian School, Crossroads School, the Mainstage in Santa Barbara and The Antioch Cafe.  The band got to meet a lot of interesting new people as well as going to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, Hollywood, Venice Beach (where the film “I Love you man” was shot) and the crazily steep streets of San Francisco.

For the sports fans of the group the tour also took in a baseball game between the Angels and the Texas Rangers at Anaheim Stadium and an NFL game between The San Diego Chargers and The Miami Dolphins.
